Siege epilogue: the last days of the Roman Republic of 1849

Conference-concert inspired by the close relationship between Mazzini and music
The event is divided into two parts: a conference that, through historical documents and the letters of Mazzini, will reconstruct the musical tastes and favourite musicians, highlighting his strong interest for the guitar as an antidote to prison, and a concert of music for flute and guitar of the early nineteenth century. The music by Ferdinando Carulli and Francesco Molino will be performed by Andrea Damiani (guitar) and Enrico Casularo (flute) on original instruments of the period, while the conference will be held by the Swiss musicologist Katia Chevrier.
