The Museo della Repubblica Romana e della memoria garibaldina is one year old
On Saturday, March 17, at the close of the national celebrations for the 150th anniversary of the Unification of Italy, the first year of the Museo della Repubblica Romana e della memoria garibaldina is celebrated at Porta San Pancrazio.
Calendar of Events
10.00 am (meeting point: square outside the museum):
- First guided tour: "June 3, 1849, Villa Corsini: the siege begins";
- Second guided tour: "The walls and the final stages of the siege";
- Third guided tour: "The Janiculum, Memorial Park";
11.00 am and 12.00 pm:
- Concerts:music for flute and guitar of the early nineteenth century performed by Andrea Damiani (guitar) and Damiano Casularo (flute) with music by Ferdinando Carulli and Francesco Molino. Booking is required: tel. +39060608. Concerts are free of charge upon payment of the museum's admission ticket;
4.30 pm and 5.30 pm:
“Visite guidate d’autore”: guided tours of the Museum led by Prof. Giuseppe Monsagrati, Professor of History of the Renaissance at La Sapienza - University of Rome and Prof. Annita Garibaldi, Vice President of the ANVRG- Associazione Nazionale Veterani e Reduci Garibaldini and Director of the ANVRG Historical Office of Porta San Pancrazio. Booking is required: tel. +39060608. Guided tours are free of charge upon payment of the museum's admission ticket.
